State Parks

Scott County, Virginia is fortunate to be the home to Natural Tunnel State Park, referred to as William Jennings Bryan as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”   The county is equally fortunate to have four additional state parks within an easy drive—Breaks Interstate Park, Clinch River State Park, the Southwest Virginia Museum and the Wilderness Road State Park.

While Natural Tunnel, Breaks and the Clinch are outdoor adventure paradises, the Southwest Virginia Museum and Wilderness Road State Park celebrate the history of this region, as does Natural Tunnel with the Wilderness Road Blockhouse and the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Interpretative Center.

For visitors looking to immerse themselves in nature, while at the same time, delving deeper into the history of this nation, Scott County is the perfect centralized location.  The Scott County Tourism Office, located at 190 Beech St., Suite 201, Gate City, VA 24251 will be happy to help you plan your next exploration into nature and history.
