Adjacent to the Cove Ridge Center, designed for training workshops, meetings and retreats in the intimate and natural setting of Natural Tunnel, the Powell Clinch Lodges can accommodate up to 48 overnight guests.
Each room has a full bed and three twin beds, plus a dresser and wardrobe cabinet. Restrooms and showers are conveniently located within the facility. Linens are provided, plus their is a washing machine and dryer for guest’s use. Overnight guests enjoy the convenience of a self-contained kitchen for preparing meals.
Outside catering may be arranged to provide food service. Upon request, Cove Ridge Center staff can provide visitors with an approved list of caterers.
Aside from the Cove Ridge Center, the lodges are also adjacent to a junior Olympic swimming pool (closed currently due to COVID restrictions), a gazebo with a stunning 360-degree scenic view of the mountain, an outdoor activity center that can accommodate up to 200 people for outdoor events and cookouts, and an outdoor amphitheater for performances and presentations.
Reservations may be made a year in advance. To reserve, call 276-940-2696. A deposit of 30 percent is required within 14 days of making the reservation. If deposit is not received by then, the reservation is cancelled. Deposit is refundable up to two weeks in advance of the event to be held. Because of demand for use of the center, cancellations after this time period are nonrefundable. Contact the center, (276) 940-2696, for details on fees. Payment in full is due one week prior to your event arrival unless previous arrangements have been made. Checks must be made payable to Treasurer of Virginia.
Check-in for the dorm is 4 p.m., and check-out is 10 a.m. unless previous arrangements have been made. Pillows and linens are provided. If you use the dorm kitchen, please place used dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on upon leaving. Operation instructions for dishwasher are affixed on the counter above the dishwasher.
